WFMZ-TV -- Allentown

State police are upset about a plea deal in a case involving the killing of one of their own.

The Pennsylvania State Troopers Association said it's "vehemently opposed" to the plea deal being negotiated by federal prosecutors with Emily Gross.

Police said Gross purchased a handgun and gave it to Daniel Autenrieth. They said Autenrieth used it to kill state Trooper Joshua Miller during a shootout in Monroe County in June 2009.

Autenrieth was also killed in that shootout.

Gross is scheduled for a plea hearing next month, but prosecutors haven't released details about a potential plea agreement.
